TL;DR: We use your photos only to generate try-on images, never train models, never sell your data. You can delete your account and all data anytime.

1. Who We Are

Chaungyi ("we", "us", "our") operates the Chaungyi TryOn mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only to:

Generate AI try-on images (your selfie + clothing → 6 scene images)
Power the AI chat assistant that helps you decide what to try
Maintain your account and history
Process subscription payments (via Apple/Google IAP)
Prevent abuse and debug issues

We do NOT:

❌ Sell your personal information to third parties
❌ Use your photos to train AI models (your selfies and clothing are deleted after you delete your account)
❌ Share your content with other users or the public
❌ Show you advertising based on your data

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with these service providers to operate the Service:

Important: When you use the AI try-on or chat features, your selfie and clothing photos are sent to MiniMax (a third-party AI provider) for processing. They are used solely to generate your requested images and are not retained or used for training by MiniMax per their standard API terms.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your selfies are stored in a private storage bucket; only you and our AI processing pipeline can access them.
Your clothing items are stored in a public storage bucket (the images themselves are publicly accessible via URL, but no personal information is attached).
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (AES-256 via Supabase).
Access to production systems requires multi-factor authentication.

6. Data Retention

Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Selfies and clothing photos: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Generated try-on images: Same as above.
Chat history: Same as above.
Error logs: Anonymized after 90 days.

7. Your Rights (US & Canada)

🇺🇸 US Residents (especially California)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to:

Know what personal information we collect and how it's used (this policy)
Delete your personal information
Correct inaccurate personal information
Opt out of sale or sharing (we don't sell or share your data)
Non-discrimination for exercising your rights

🇨🇦 Canadian Residents

Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

Access your personal information
Challenge the accuracy of your personal information
Withdraw consent at any time (subject to legal/contractual restrictions)
File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

Email privacy@chaungyi.app with your request. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (US COPPA compliance) or under 14 (Canadian PIPEDA guidance). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us at privacy@chaungyi.app and we will delete it within 7 days.

9. International Data Transfers

While our Service is intended for users in the United States and Canada, some of our service providers (notably MiniMax) process data on servers in China. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer. We have taken steps to ensure all providers meet industry-standard data protection obligations.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will notify you of material changes by:

Posting the new policy in the app
Sending an email (for major changes)

The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect when changes were made.
